Oven convection function

The oven convection function is poor and does not bake properly. What ever I bake does not get properly baked on the bottom of the pan. The heat seems to not be properly circulated. My specific need was to get a micro appliance that had a good baking, convection function. My previous micro with baking/convection function from another company was excellent. I hoped that you micro would be as good, but it was a disappointment. By the way, my previous micro had a maximum of 100 watt, while this one only has 90 watt !

This oven is great. It does a nice job of baking and grilling. I like the crispy pan and racks that come with it. It is easy to clean. But it does put out a lot of heat. The cabinet gets quite warm. The oven can only be used where it can get a lot of air low otherwise it over heats and shuts down. It's annoying. I've moved this oven out to the sunroom on a stainless steel table where it has full air flow all around it and keep a fan blowing on it when the oven is in use. This seems to work but it is rather inconvenient to trot out to the back sunroom to check on the chicken. And I don't have the counter space for this oven. Also I have butcher block counters and with heat this puts out I worry about damage.
The oven bakes anything I want to cook in a reasonable amount of time. Chicken, steaks and burgers gone out lovely, nine crust but still juicy. I like the way it cooks.

Only have had 41 days and the microwave has broken. Very very loud and smells burned. Would not buy again, not even sure I would want it if they fixed it. Very sad Samsung.

This product has been an excellent replacement for my former microwave, with the addition of convection cooking. And the combination microwave/convection function makes baking potatoes quick and easy! And the drop down door is so much more classy than the ones that open to the side.

I never thought there would be a big difference between microwaves until I stated using this one!! Not only does it give me tones of counter space, since I combined three products into one. It cook and reheats everything perfectly. The fry features allows me to fry items without all the oil, the convection allows me to bake without heating up the whole house, the microwaves heats everything evenly the first time. I could go on and on. I love my new microwave, convection, fryer and grill wrapped up in one device!!

Used for 3 months. Works well as a microwave but convection mode causes unit to overheat. If used for more than 45 minutes at 400F, shuts down completely. Will not power on until left to cool for 1-2 hours.
Oven mode not reliable for long cooking periods and would not recommend using it for anything requiring a longer heating period.

A Real Microwave - Convection Oven - for a cook who cares

Unlike other so-called convection/microwave ovens that use microwave heat and just blow it around, this oven uses "real" heat to create a convection environment. Why is that important? Because that heat, produced by traditional heating elements browns and crisps. And when you need a microwave, it does that too - exactly as you'd expect. Need to crisp up the top of a dish? Use the grill option and see the grill elements get red hot.
So what's so great about this appliance? It's small (1.1 cu. ft), takes up less counter room than most, and does the job of: microwave, convection oven, bagel/muffin toaster, small grill/broiler. Some people don't like that the top gets so hot. How about a plate warmer? Perfect.
The "down" side: Heavens! You need to READ the manual. Because it does so much you need to think like it does. Invest some time with the appliance and the manual and you'll love it.
BTW - this is my second Samsung micro/conv oven. Have one in another vacation home. Bought another brand - bigger and prettier - for my main home and returned it because it did not perform half as well is this one.
Shop around. Prices vary like crazy.

It's the most expensive microwave I've purchased. Samsung is a very trusted brand for quality and service. Fits in very nicely with the rest of my appliances. Worked beautifully and easy to use. I just purchased it today so I haven't baked with it yet. This feature was the selling point for me. So will post again when I use that option. Looking forward to many baked goods.

I use my slim fry oven every day... From quickly cooking bacon with the convection oven feature to cooking a small batch of french fries.
The auto defrost works great and never over defrost like other units that I have used in the past.
I would say that if you are in the market for a new microwave and have the extra money to spend you will not be disappointed...

We love the looks and features of this new microwave! Did our research and couldn't find any reason not to buy it. Still learning exactly how to use all of the features (micro-grilling, etc.) but the results so far have been good. Our biggest hesitation was: could we get used to the door opening downward? We adapted quickly and don't even think about it now, however the reach for cleaning is a tad more difficult. Very satisfied with the product thus far.
