Doesn't work

After three days it stopped working, a technician was sent out and told me it needed to be replaced. My dishwasher also broke. I am sure Bosch will tell me to reach out to customer service, but I just did and there is nothing they can do. Wish I could return all three items and go with a different brand.

Love the downdraft.

Love the telescopic downdraft. It fit the space of my old Thermador downdraft. I would have given it a 5 stars rating but the power supply cable to the control box is slightly short (8" short) for electric outlet located on the side side of the downdraft. Needed an extension cord.

BOSCH WILL NOT HONOR WARRANTY

Purchased a Bosch down drafft along with other Bosch kitchen appliances worth about $20000. The down draft didn't work and we asked Bosch to repair or replace it. They advised we were too far from their dealer even though we are well within the 100 miles the warranty offer. They did tell us we could dismantle the unit, package same and send it to them for repair at our cost. Told them we found same unreasonable and they just advised it was the best they could offer. In order words - they choose when to honor the warranty they sell you. Buy another brand !

Major Problems

First of all, the unit was packed in the box with only a few loose blocks of Styrofoam. The unit was sliding around inside the box because most of the blocks were crushed or out of place. I have attached a photo showing the inside of the box when first opened. I spent two hours fishing crumbs of Styrofoam out of the internal mechanism. I don't think the box was mishandled. Rather, the packing was designed incompetently. Because the unit is heavy, it could easily have been damaged sliding around inside. Once I got the ventilator installed, I was appalled at how loud it is. On the medium setting, the air rushing through the metal filters makes a ghastly howl. Finally, shortly after installation two of the buttons on the control pad failed. The control pad is poorly built in general. Even the buttons that work are hard to activate. They feel barely responsive.

800 Series Downdraft Ventilation

love the 800 Series downdraft we paired wiht our Bosch Induction cooktop. When not in use it is flush with the stovetop which helps create a flat seamless flow on the countertop. When we have used it, it works very well. The unit was compatible with the exhaust vent from our old Jenn-Air cook top. Highly recommend this downdraft

Worth the wait

Took almost 6 months from the time I ordered to when it was installed but very happy with the purchase. Like all my other Bosch appliances, this hood is quality built. I have no doubt it will last a long time.

Poor design - buttons melted in a week

So frustrating! Waited for the downdraft vent for 6 months. Positioning of the buttons is bad, they are right above the direct heat from one of the biggest burners. Ended up melting button in a week of use! This is not the quality I expect from a brand like Bosch!
